Description
The IC693ALG223 is a 12-bit analogue current input module for ALSPA C80-35 or Rx3i systems. It provides up to 16 single-ended channels with a common return. Each active channel can be configured independently for 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA Enhanced operation, with configurable high and low alarm thresholds.
In the standard 4 to 20 mA range, 4 mA corresponds to 0 and 20 mA to +32000, with a resolution of 4 µA per count. The 0 to 20 mA range provides a resolution of 5 µA per count. Enhanced mode maps 0 mA to -8000, 4 mA to 0 and 20 mA to +32000, allowing a low alarm threshold to detect currents below 4 mA and identify open-loop or open-wire conditions. All 16 channels are updated within 13 ms.
The module provides 1,500 V isolation between the field and logic sides. Each input has an impedance of 250 Ω, a 19 Hz low-pass filter response and cross-channel rejection greater than 80 dB from DC to 1 kHz. Accuracy is specified at ±0.25% of full scale at 25°C and ±0.5% over the operating temperature range. The analogue circuitry requires an external 20 to 30 VDC supply, which can also provide transmitter-loop power through the 24VOUT terminal. Configuration is performed using ALSPA P8 or P80 engineering software or a hand-held programmer, while two front LEDs indicate module and user-supply status.
