Description
The STI161 is a two-channel turbine-speed interface for ALSPA P320 systems. It shapes and counts signals from variable-reluctance or measurement-alternator sensors and from two- or three-wire powered sensors, while detecting a sensor-line failure in less than 150 µs.
The two measurement channels are independent but are not mutually isolated. Selectable predivision factors of 1, 16 and 24 provide precision better than 0.01% over operating ranges extending from 0.1 Hz to 40 kHz. The module uses 20 MHz, 28-bit counters, supports connection to an FT3100 speed-protection interface and occupies one C80-35 rack slot.
